"Through the Rift"
A lone time machine streaks through a kaleidoscopic tunnel of pink and violet energy, tearing through space at breakneck speed. The booth, small and boxy, becomes a powerful focal point amidst streaking beams, flares, and dimensional currents — a modern reinterpretation of classic sci-fi motifs. The color scheme pays direct homage to the visual identity of Macy Murdoch, while the scale and velocity of the moment bring a fresh, cinematic punch.
Created in collaboration with Radical Point Media for CBC’s Macy Murdoch, this shot was designed to depict time travel as both chaotic and beautiful. The creative brief called for something bold and youthful, so I leaned into expressive colors, fast movement, and high-impact energy flows. The use of five signature energy beams tailing the time booth helped anchor the action and give the scene layered depth.
But the real magic came from the camera: every movement, every shake, every shift in perspective was carefully orchestrated to exaggerate speed and scale. The camera acts like a second character — chasing, drifting, correcting — selling the idea of an impossible journey through unstable time.
